Asia based airline obtains settlement in breach of contract lawsuit against Japanese aircraft parts supplier
Clients Asia based airline
Jones Day represented an Asia based airline in a lawsuit filed against a Japanese aircraft parts supplier, seeking compensation of damages caused by the supplier's failure in delivering its products to the airline. Just after filing the lawsuit, the airline filed petitions for provisional attachment and garnishment orders of the supplier's properties including its account receivables in order to secure the enforcement of the judgment of the lawsuit, and successfully obtained such orders, which contributed to an early and successful settlement of the case. About 7 months later after the filing, the airline successfully reached a settlement agreement with the supplier.
