Nonprofit private school obtains judgment that unpaid tuition is nondischargeable in personal bankruptcy case

In an adversary proceeding filed on behalf of an Atlanta non-profit private school, Jones Day obtained a judgment that unpaid tuition owed by the debtor was nondischargeable under section 523(a)(8) of the Bankruptcy Code. In a separate proceeding in the Fulton County Superior Court, Jones Day obtained a judgment against a third party who gave the school unfunded checks for the tuition.
