Jones Day secures $50,000-plus judgment for victims of used car lot's fraudulent scheme
Clients Najera, Ericka
In a case obtained through Public Counsel, Jones Day successfully secured a judgment for several causes of action arising out of a scheme where the plaintiffs were deprived of their down payments on vehicles purchased and of payments for service contracts from a used car lot. All of the plaintiffs purchased vehicles that immediately had mechanical problems which were not corrected by the dealer. After being unsuccessful in resolving their dispute, the plaintiffs sought the help of Public Counsel and Jones Day, where the Los Angeles County Superior Court awarded the plaintiffs over $50,000 in damages, including attorney's fees and interest.
