CBS obtains favorable outcome in South Carolina workers' compensation law case
Clients CBS Corporation
Jones Day successfully represented CBS Corporation in a case with important implications for South Carolina workers’ compensation law. In September 2011, the South Carolina Supreme Court unanimously agreed with CBS's argument that under the state’s pulmonary disease statute, claimants with asbestosis may not collect workers’ compensation benefits unless they can actually prove they have lost earnings as a result of their disease.
