Insurance company wins summary judgment in breach of contract and fraud action

Clients Insurance company

Jones Day successfully represented client, a seller of non-standard auto insurance, in insurance services litigation. Our client acquired a chain of 45 non-standard brokerages in California and elsewhere in a $50 million transaction. After the acquisition, the seller sued our client for breach of contract and fraud. We were successful in obtaining summary judgment on both the contract and fraud claims. Thereafter, we obtained a sizable award of attorneys fees against plaintiff as the prevailing party in the litigation.
