Civil engineering contractor resolves dispute with sub-contractor arising out of construction of world's largest cable-stayed bridge

Jones Day represented the main contractor joint venture in relation to disputes with the sub-contractor responsible for the fabrication, assembly, delivery and installation of segments for Stonecutters Bridge in Hong Kong. The disputes were caused by deliberate delay in the delivery of bridge segments and allegations of economic duress by the sub-contractor to force a price renegotiation. The parties amicably settled the disputes and arbitration was avoided.
