Helen Keller International prevails in employment discrimination matter

Clients Helen Keller International, Inc.

After nearly a year of litigation, Jones Day recently obtained a successful result for Helen Keller International, Inc.(HKI) in Ohio state court (Cuyahoga County). HKI is a nonprofit organization based in New York City with domestic and international community outreach programs. The organization targets the nutrition and medical care of underprivileged children around the world in an effort to prevent blindness and correct vision problems. A former field employee filed suit against HKI, alleging that her termination was impermissibly based on race rather than on other legitimate, work-related factors.
