Grameen Trust receives advice regarding trademark registration, fund donations, and the establishment of the first two Grameen-type microfinance organizations in Sichuan and Inner Mongolia in the People's Republic of China

The Grameen Trust's mission is to create a world without poverty by making credit available to the rural poor through partnerships with charity organizations. Luming Chen who leads a team in the Shanghai office, working with Beijing Office, has been providing advice to Grameen Trust on issues concerning establishing its presence in China, including trademark registration. Luming Chen's team has been providing advice to Grameen Trust in connection with fund donations and the establishment of the first two Grameen type microfinance organizations in Sichuan and Inner Mongolia in the People's Republic of China with Alibaba, Jet Li One Foundation and Poverty Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The application documents regarding the establishment of the microfinance organizations are currently under the review of the local government and is expected to be approved soon. The mission of Grameen Trust in China is to provide small loans, unsecured and without guaranty, at appropriate interest rates to farmers and herdsmen in impoverished areas of Sichuan and Inner Mongolia to whom traditional bank credit is not available.
