Otter Tail acquires Langdon Wind Energy Center

Jones Day served as counsel to Otter Tail Corporation, d/b/a Otter Tail Power Company, in connection with its agreements to build and own a 40.5-megawatt portion of a projected 159-megawatt wind energy generation project, known as the Langdon Wind Energy Center, developed by FPL Energy in North Dakota. Initial operation of the 106 General Electric wind turbines, each having a nameplate capacity of 1.5 MW, at the wind farm began in December 2007. Otter Tail Power Company owns 27 of the Langdon Wind Energy Center’s 106 turbines, or 40.5 megawatts. FPL Energy owns the remainder of the turbines and operates the entire wind farm.
