Motorola win in multimillion dollar insurance dispute affirmed by 9th Circuit
Clients Motorola, Inc.
Jones Day represented Motorola in a suit against a plumber's insurer, after the plumber's error in fixing a water main valve shut down an entire Motorola semiconductor plant for several days. A jury trial ended in a multimillion dollar verdict for Motorola. Our lawyers took lead roles in various post-trial briefs and also briefed and argued the opposition to defendant's appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. It took that court less than 3 weeks to affirm the judgment for Motorola on all issues. We also were successful in recovering much of the attorney fees expended on the case.
