Mentor obtains summary judgment on all claims
Clients Mentor Corporation
Jones Day, representing Mentor Corporation, obtained summary judgment on all claims brought by a plaintiff and her husband, who alleged that plaintiff suffered significant and permanent personal injuries from exposure to allegedly defective breast implants manufactured and sold by our client. The plaintiffs asserted a substantial six-figure damage claim. The District Court, citing cross-examination deposition testimony of plaintiffs' experts by Jones Day, found that plaintiffs could not prove the essential element of proximate causation and dismissed each of the plaintiff's claims for that reason. Plaintiff did not appeal.
