GE obtains settlement in case brought by Honeywell to recoup Illinois sales and use taxes
Clients General Electric Company
Jones Day represented General Electric Company in an action against Honeywell to recoup Illinois sales and use taxes paid to Illinois Dept. of Revenue. The case settled on mutually agreeable terms after the district court denied Honeywell's motion to dismiss, finding in an issue of first impression that GE could state a private cause of action under the Illinois Service Use Tax Act.
