Ashland Chemical negotiates environmental settlements with Ohio EPA and owners of chemical storage and distribution facility

Clients Ashland Chemical Company

Jones Day defended Ashland Chemical Company, the prior owner of a site involving an administrative action for the investigation of chlorinated solvent contamination in a public well field. Located in Bellaire, Ohio, the site contained a former bulk chemical storage and distribution facility near a municipal well field impacted with low levels of solvent contamination. In addition to negotiating an administrative settlement with Ohio EPA to conduct an environmental investigation of the site, Jones Day negotiated access and cost allocation agreements with the current and several former owners of the site.
