CBS Corporation and Westinghouse Pension Plan defeat ERISA action related to sale of business

Clients CBS Corporation

Jones Day successfully represented CBS Corporation, as successor to Westinghouse, and the Westinghouse Pension Plan against allegations that it violated ERISA when it sold a business unit to a third-party and did not ensure that the buyer's pension plan included job separation benefits. The District Court granted CBS' motion to dismiss, and the Eleventh Circuit affirmed on appeal.
