Jones Day partners Randy Kay, resident of both the San Diego and Silicon Valley offices, and Steven Zadravecz, resident of both the Irvine and Los Angeles offices, have again been selected by the Daily Journal for inclusion in its fourth annual list of Top Trade Secrets Lawyers in California.

Mr. Kay, who appears on the Daily Journal's Top Trade Secrets Lawyers list for the fourth consecutive year, is a partner in Jones Day's Intellectual Property Practice and serves as chair of the Firm's global Trade Secrets practice. He has more than 30 years of experience advising on trade secret disputes, including matters involving cybersecurity, data breaches, and failed joint ventures. Currently, Mr. Kay leads global trade secret matters for clients in the telecommunications, semiconductor, healthcare, chemicals, and solar power industries. In addition to his trade secret litigation practice, he also leads prefiling investigations of intellectual property theft; guides companies on early readiness programs for trade secret disputes; directs trade secret audits; and counsels companies on trade secret protection.

Mr. Zadravecz, who appears on the Daily Journal's list for the third consecutive year, is a partner in the Firm's Labor & Employment Practice and has 25 years of experience representing employers in matters that include high-stakes trade secret litigation (for both plaintiffs and defendants) and high profile, defense-side employment litigation issues. Over the past few years, Mr. Zadravecz has achieved significant and consequential wins for Jones Day trade secrets clients, including a jury verdict in 2021 (one of the first COVID-19-era trials in California) finding in favor of a Jones Day client on the issue of trade secret misappropriation, and a final judgment awarding both permanent injunctive relief and more than $500,000 in attorneys' fees and costs; a $15 million verdict following a successful jury trial in a trade secret misappropriation case; and significant and early litigation wins in several trade secrets cases for employers.
