Erin Sindberg Porter selected as one of Minnesota Lawyer's 2021 Attorneys of the Year
Minnesota Lawyer has selected Erin Sindberg Porter, a Jones Day partner, as one of its 2021 Attorneys of the Year. Ms. Sindberg Porter received this recognition for her leadership in the legal profession and significant public service in her capacity as Chair of the Commission on Judicial Selection.
The Attorneys of the Year awards honor lawyers for their work in procuring a successful result in an important case or business transaction, leadership in professional associations, participation in newsworthy events in the legal community, performance of significant public services, or excellence in providing in-house legal services. Ms. Sindberg Porter and the other award recipients will be honored at Minnesota Lawyer's annual Attorneys of the Year event on Thursday, February 17.
Based in the Firm's Minneapolis Office, Ms. Sindberg Porter represents clients in complex litigation, federal government investigations, and state attorney general enforcement matters and has extensive experience conducting internal investigations. In 2020, Governor Tim Walz appointed her Chair of Minnesota's Commission on Judicial Selection, a 49-member commission of attorney and non-attorney members who solicit, evaluate, and recommend to the Governor judicial candidates for state district court vacancies. She maintains a robust pro bono practice, representing youth in foster care through the Children's Law Center and low-income Minnesotans seeking to enforce their legal rights through the Volunteer Lawyers Network. She also serves on the Children's Law Center Board of Directors and the High Winds Fund Committee at Macalester College.
