Jones Day wins American Lawyer 2021 Texas Litigation Department of the Year award
Jones Day received The American Lawyer's 2021 "Texas Litigation Department of the Year" award. The award recognizes litigation results that demonstrate excellence in representing the Firm's clients on matters led by our Texas litigation attorneys on "high-stakes matters, setting important precedent and providing exceptional lawyering."
"It is gratifying to be recognized for the outcomes and tremendous effort we provide our clients in many significant matters by teams led by our Texas-based attorneys that often have national and international scope," said John M. Majoras, co-leader of the Business & Tort Litigation Practice. "An extraordinarily deep bench prevailed for clients with numerous innovative arguments resulting in critical outcomes."
Jones Day's litigators in Dallas and Houston led litigation significant to the asset-backed securitization industry, achieved an important precedent-setting victory related to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and defended the first antitrust allegations in connection with cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
"We have more than 70 litigators in Texas representing clients on their most essential, complex, and bet-the-company matters related to commercial, intellectual property, financial services, and employment litigation in federal and state courts throughout the United States, and internal and government investigations in Texas, Mexico, and around the world," said Matthew A. Kairis, Partner-in-Charge of the Texas Region. "I could not be more proud of the hard work our attorneys in the Dallas and Houston offices provide on behalf of our clients—in both their consistency and determination."
The American Lawyer's annual industry awards program honors firms and individuals that clients turned to "in search of answers to their most pressing problems," and the " … firms (that) showed up time and time again with novel solutions, preserving civil rights and corporate livelihoods all the same."
