Claire Castles recognized as a “West Trailblazer” by The American Lawyer

The American Lawyer has recognized Jones Day's Claire Castles in its inaugural "West Trailblazers" feature, which will appear in its July/August 2021 issue. West Trailblazers recognizes professionals in the Western United States who have moved the needle in the legal industry.

Based in the Firm's Los Angeles Office, Ms. Castles is a partner in the Health Care & Life Sciences Practice and has longstanding experience advising clients on complex regulatory compliance, reimbursement matters, and the licensure landscape in the health care and life sciences industry. She is a "go-to" lawyer for innovative reimbursement and patient care delivery models, and helps clients advance the groundbreaking redesign of delivery models to reimagine hospital care and more.

Notably, Ms. Castles worked with clients to secure first-of-its-kind "hospital without walls" waivers from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Prior to COVID-19, these programs were small research projects that tested technologies and care models designed to expand virtual access to highly skilled providers. Now, as part of this CMS program, health systems and hospitals are able to provide hospital-level care outside of the traditional setting, directly in patients' homes.
