Jones Day announces nine winners of its International Legal Fellowship Award in China

The Firm has announced the winners of its 2021 Jones Day International Legal Fellowship Award. Nine outstanding law students from top universities in China were chosen as recipients for this year's award, including students from Peking University, Peking University School of Transnational Law, University of International Business and Economics, Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China Foreign Affairs University, Xiamen University, and Renmin University of China.

Since 2001, the Jones Day International Legal Fellowship has granted more than RMB 4 million to 239 students from 17 universities in China to support their educational pursuits in the legal area of their choice. This year, Jones Day has increased the fellowship amount to RMB 30,000 per winner.

"Jones Day has been committed to this International Legal Fellowship program for 20 years, which is consistent with Jones Day's mission to commit to the global rule of law and public service," said Jessie Tang, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's Beijing Office. "This year is also the first time that we have extended the award to all of China, and not just to the two cities of Beijing and Shanghai. With this, we hope we are able to support and encourage more outstanding legal talents for their legal education and pursuits."

We are very happy to meet a group of outstanding students in Jones Day's International Law Fellowship program every year, who represent the future of China's rule of law," added Angel Huang, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's Shanghai Office.
