
Tamera Weisser among Daily Journal's "Top Women Lawyers in California" for second consecutive year
Dr. Tamera Weisser, a partner in Jones Day's Intellectual Property Practice resident in the Firm's San Diego Office, has been named for a second consecutive year to the Daily Journal's list of "Top Women Lawyers in California." Editors of the Daily Journal recognize honorees based on the impact and regional or national implications of their work. This year marks Dr. Weisser's fourth appearance on the Daily Journal's prestigious list.
Dr. Weisser holds a Ph.D. in Immunology and Virology and leverages more than 20 years of global patent prosecution and strategic IP counseling experience. Widely considered a leader in the areas of life-saving antibody immunotherapeutics and other protein-based biologic drugs, cell-based therapies, and biomarker diagnostics for use in personalized medicine, Dr. Weisser is engaged by some of the world's top life sciences companies and promising start-ups to drive innovative strategies to protect commercially important therapeutic products and cutting-edge technologies. Employing both legal and scientific skills as well as real-world laboratory experience to create robust global patent portfolios, she also assists clients with freedom-to-operate, patentability, and due diligence analyses in connection with acquisitions, partnerships, and other IP transactional matters. Dr. Weisser's 360-degree vantage point has also led to a successful track record in inter partes review proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Dr. Weisser serves as administrative partner for the Firm's San Diego Office and is a member of BIOCOM's board of governors. Additional recent accolades include being featured in The National Law Journal's list of "IP Trailblazers" and Daily Journal's list of "Top Intellectual Property Lawyers in California."
