Jones Day adds nine U.S. Supreme Court clerks from October Term 2019

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that nine former U.S. Supreme Court clerks from October Term 2019 have joined the Firm as associates in the Firm's Issues & Appeals Practice. Jones Day has recruited 64 U.S. Supreme Court clerks since October Term 2011.

The new arrivals, office locations, the Justices for whom they clerked, their law schools, and prior clerkships are as follows:

  • Zaki Anwar (Columbus Office) - Clerked for Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr.; graduated from Harvard Law School. Prior to his Supreme Court clerkship, Mr. Anwar was a Judicial Clerk for Hon. Sri Srinivasan, U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit (2018-2019), and Hon. Jeffrey S. Sutton, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (2017-2018).
  • Marco Basile (Boston Office) - Clerked for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg; graduated from Harvard Law School. Prior to his Supreme Court clerkship, Mr. Basile was a Judicial Clerk for Hon. David J. Barron, U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (2017-2018), and Hon. Paul J. Watford, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (2016-2017).
  • Audrey Beck (Washington Office) - Clerked for Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh; graduated from University of Notre Dame Law School. Prior to her Supreme Court clerkship, Ms. Beck was a Judicial Clerk for Hon. Jeffrey S. Sutton, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (2018-2019), and Hon. Joan L. Larsen, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (2017-2018).
  • H. Hunter Bruton (Hunter) (Washington Office) - Clerked for Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr.; graduated from Duke University School of Law. Prior to his Supreme Court clerkship, Mr. Bruton was a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General, U.S. Department of Justice (2018-2019), and a Judicial Clerk for Hon. Ellen S. Huvelle, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (2017-2018); Hon. Thomas F. Hogan, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (2017-2018); and Hon. Allyson K.   • Joseph Falvey (Joe) (Washington Office) - Clerked for Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr.; graduated from Yale Law School.   • Kelly Holt (New York Office) ? Clerked for Justice Neil M. Gorsuch; graduated from The University of Chicago Law School. Prior to her Supreme Court clerkship, Ms. Holt was a Judicial Clerk for Hon. J. Harvie Wilkinson III, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (2017-2018).
  • Mark Jia (Washington Office) - Clerked for Justice David Souter (ret.) and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (2019-2020); graduated from Harvard Law School.   • Caroline Lindsay (Washington Office) - Clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas; graduated from The University of Chicago Law School. Prior to her Supreme Court clerkship, Mrs. Lindsay was a Judicial Clerk for Hon. Gregory G. Katsas, U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit (2018-2019), and Hon. Diane S. Sykes, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (2016-2017).
