TDI Yearly 2020 – Key Developments in the EU’S Trade Defence Policy of the Past Year

On February 19, 2021, Byron Maniatis, an associate in Jones Day's Government Regulation Practice resident in Brussels, participated in a roundtable discussion on the European Commission's countervailing duties practice in the last year. The panel included Cathy de Backer (DG Trade – Trade Defence Instruments) and was moderated by Prof. Harri Kalimo of the Institute for European Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, which hosted the event.

The keynote speaker was Denis Redonnet, DG Trade – Deputy Director-General – Chief Trade Enforcement Officer), who provided an update on EU trade enforcement actions.

Other speakers included members of the UK Department for International Trade, other members of DG Trade, and private practitioners.
