12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EST
Lisa Ledbetter, a partner in Jones Day's Financial Markets Practice resident in Washington, will speak on a panel on cryptocurrencies at the upcoming Women in Housing & Finance Partner Series "Cryptocurrency Meets Banks."
The panelists will discuss recent OCC interpretive letters on crypto-related activities permitted to banks and the impacts and implications for financial institutions and cryptocurrency companies. Among other things, they will discuss: providing custody services to customers with respect to crypto and other digital assets; holding reserves for stablecoin issuers; and validating, sorting, and recording payment transactions by serving as a node on an Internet Node Verification Network, issuing stablecoin, and exchanging stablecoin for fiat currency, such as U.S. dollars.
