Christopher DiPompeo chosen by American Bankruptcy Institute for "40 Under 40" list
Christopher DiPompeo, a partner in Jones Day's Issues & Appeals and Business Reorganization & Restructuring practices resident in the Firm's Washington Office, is among the "Top 40 Under 40" insolvency industry professionals chosen by the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) for 2020. The list includes men and women from law, finance, consulting, academia, government, and other areas. A steering committee of experienced professionals from ABI's current leadership established the criteria for selection and chose this year's class. The ABI will conduct a virtual ceremony to celebrate its honorees in February 2021.
Mr. DiPompeo's practice focuses on complex litigation and appellate advocacy in the context of business restructurings and chapter 11 bankruptcies. He has significant experience across a variety of industries, including financial services, government contracts, gaming, and municipal government. He regularly counsels clients in connection with issues relating to bankruptcy jurisdiction and venue, the automatic stay, post-petition financing, and complex commercial contracts. Mr. DiPompeo's significant representations have included the City of Detroit in its historic chapter 9 bankruptcy case, as well as major creditors of Energy Future Holdings, Caesars Entertainment, General Motors, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Prior to joining Jones Day, Chris served as a law clerk for John G. Roberts Jr., the Chief Justice of the United States, and Judge Paul. V. Niemeyer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
