IBLJ names Jones Day among top 15 foreign firms in India
India Business Law Journal (IBLJ) named Jones Day among the top 15 foreign firms advising on legal matters in India. This is the 12th consecutive year that IBLJ has included Jones Day in its ranking. The leading foreign firms report is based on IBLJ's analysis of more than 600 law firms that have been engaged in transactions and disputes with an Indian component in the previous 12 month period.
Jones Day has served the Indian market for more than 25 years. The Firm's India practice is coordinated from Singapore and includes more than 60 lawyers—many of whom were educated in India or have worked in prominent Indian law firms—with qualifications spanning more than a dozen jurisdictions. The Firm has represented domestic and international corporations, financial institutions, investors, multilateral development banks, and government entities on many notable transactions and investments in India and on India-related deals around the world.
In their report, IBLJ noted the Firm's strength in banking and finance, M&A, private equity, capital markets, energy, projects and infrastructure, dispute resolution, and investigations and compliance.
Earlier this year, IBLJ named Sushma Jobanputra, Partner-in-Charge of the Singapore Office, and partner Karthik Kumar, to the 2020 edition of their "International A-List," a list of the 100 top India-focused lawyers from outside the country.
IBLJ provides intelligence on legal developments and strategies to India-based and international businesses and law firms engaged in cross-border transactions.
