Jones Day ranked among world’s leading international arbitration firms in Global Arbitration Review’s GAR 30

Jones Day has once again been recognized as one of the world's leading firms for international arbitration in the 2020 edition of the Global Arbitration Review (GAR) 30. This is the fifth consecutive year in which the Firm has been included in this ranking and in which its ranking placement improved year-over-year. Jones Day now ranks in 11th place, up from the 16th place position last year.

GAR noted that clients praised the Firm for its "unique and thorough perspective" and a "value proposition that is second to none." One client described Jones Day as the company's "go-to counsel" for international disputes, while another noted the Firm's unsurpassed "combination of talents and dedication."

"We believe this ranking reflects the increasing importance of international arbitration to our clients and the exceptional talent and leadership we have committed to this field," said Greg Shumaker, Practice Leader for Global Disputes. "We are pleased to move up so dramatically in GAR's rankings but, more importantly, it is gratifying to know our clients recognize the strength, hard work and dedication of our entire team to handling their most complex disputes, now and in the future."

GAR bases its ranking on an evaluation process that includes, among other factors, the number of arbitral hearings conducted over a two-year period, the amounts at stake in the firm's international arbitration portfolio, the billable hours devoted to international arbitration, and the firm's market reputation as shown by client and peer reviews.

Jones Day is a global law firm with more than 2,500 lawyers in 42 offices across five continents. The Firm is distinguished by: a singular tradition of client service; the mutual commitment to, and the seamless collaboration of, a true partnership; formidable legal talent across multiple disciplines and jurisdictions; and shared professional values that focus on client needs.
