Jones Day partners Aaron Agenbroad and Liat Yamini named to Daily Journal's 2020 list of Top Labor & Employment Lawyers
Jones Day partners Aaron Agenbroad and Liat Yamini have been named to the 2020 edition of the Daily Journal's list of "Top Labor & Employment Lawyers," a list that recognizes California’s top attorneys who have made significant contributions in labor and employment law. The Daily Journal covers the legal industry in California.
Mr. Agenbroad focuses his practice on employment litigation and strategic labor advice. In addition to serving as Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s San Francisco Office, Mr. Agenbroad remains a go-to lead lawyer for clients, guiding them through their most significant challenges across both employment litigation and traditional labor matters. Examples of his recent client successes include: serving as lead negotiator for a California hospital in collective bargaining negotiations with the California Nurses Association over an initial contract; resolving a series of class action cases for a major retailer that had alleged myriad wage and hour violations; securing a resolution of claims against an oil and gas company brought by a former employee in both a civil action and a labor arbitration; and defeating a union organization effort by the Motion Picture Editors Guild in an effort to organize post-production personnel working as independent contractors for a studio in California.
Ms. Yamini defends Firm clients in class/representative wage and hour actions, individual discrimination actions, and matters before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Her experience covers a wide range of complex employment and management-side traditional labor matters, as well as advising employers on their employment policies and practices. Her recent matters include serving as lead negotiator for a broadcaster in its negotiations with the SAG-AFTRA union and defending a medical treatment provider against a wage-and hour-class action. In addition to her law practice, Ms. Yamini leads efforts on behalf of the Firm's Los Angeles Office in its partnership with the National Partnership for New Americans and the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles on the "Women Empowered to Lead" program. She also serves as the hiring partner for the Los Angeles Office, a role in which she focuses on advancing diversity and inclusion at the Firm.
