
Jones Day welcomes Health Care & Life Sciences partner Rebecca Martin to Firm’s New York Office
The global law firm Jones Day announces that Rebecca Martin has joined the Firm's Health Care & Life Sciences Practice as a partner in its New York Office.
Ms. Martin has deep experience in investigations, litigations and settlements involving the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and other health care and financial fraud matters. She represents health care clients in False Claims Act and grand jury investigations and litigations, including an academic medical center, hospitals, multi-state physician practices, providers of pharmaceutical product support and medical education, private equity and REIT clients, skilled nursing facilities, a pharmaceutical wholesaler, a medical device company, and a major diagnostics company.

Ms. Martin's experience includes 15 years at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York ("SDNY"), serving most recently as Co-Chief of the Civil Frauds Unit and health care fraud coordinator for SDNY. As Co-Chief, she was responsible for the full range of False Claims Act and Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act matters handled by SDNY, which resulted in billions of dollars in recoveries for the government during her tenure. Ms. Martin oversaw a portfolio encompassing multiple industries, including the health care, pharmaceutical, medical and academic research, financial and government contracting industries.

A recognized thought leader in the field, Ms. Martin writes and speaks regularly regarding the False Claims Act and government investigations. She served as law clerk to the Honorable Theodore J. McKee in the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (1996 to 1997) and as law clerk to the Honorable John C. Lifland in the District of New Jersey (1994 to 1995).
