Jones Day leads Latin America M&A through first half of 2019

Jones Day leads among M&A advisors in Latin America in the first half of 2019, according to Refinitiv and Latinvex data.

Jones Day's M&A work in the region was highlighted by its advising on the $8.6 billion acquisition of Brazilian pipeline company TAG by France-based Engie. The transaction is the largest deal so far this year in Latin America. The Jones Day team advising Engie was led by Marcello Hallake and S. Wade Angus.

Jones Day also advised on another five Latin American deals worth $1.2 billion, including Nextel Brasil on its sale to Mexico-based America Movil for $905 million.
