Rajeev Muttreja named 2019 Rising Star by New York Law Journal
Rajeev Muttreja, a partner in Jones Day's Issues & Appeals Practice in the Firm's New York Office, was named a "Rising Star" by the New York Law Journal. The Rising Star awards recognize the region’s most promising lawyers 40 and younger who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession―whether in shaping the law, achieving outsized results for their clients, being an outstanding jurist or assisting those in need of legal services. This year's list included 31 lawyers chosen as 2019 Rising Stars by an outside panel of experts. Mr. Muttreja will be profiled in an upcoming issue of New York Law Journal’s Professional Excellence magazine.
Mr. Muttreja focuses on appellate litigation, motions practice, and trial strategy in federal and state courts. He has argued before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Circuits and has drafted briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court, many other appellate courts, and trial courts across the country. He has extensive experience defending False Claims Act cases, particularly within the health care industry. He also has significant experience with issues of federal jurisdiction, RICO, class actions, corporate governance, securities law, administrative law, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other areas.
