Karen Hewitt has been named to the Daily Journal’s 2019 list of "Top Women Lawyers in California." The list was compiled from hundreds of nominations submitted by lawyers statewide, with the honorees selected by editors based on the impact of their work having broad implications for an industry, society, a region, or the nation.
Karen P. Hewitt, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s San Diego Office and a member of the Firm’s Business & Tort Litigation Practice, is one of the only women who currently leads a law firm in San Diego. Ms. Hewitt manages a team of more than 60 attorneys who represent major companies nationally and internationally on their most complex issues and disputes relating to intellectual property, corporate, litigation, and white collar matters. She does this while handling high-profile matters for clients throughout the nation. Ms. Hewitt was recognized by the Daily Journal for several matters, including the current defense of a national retailer against tort and public nuisance and related industry claims asserted in In re: National Prescription Opiate Litigation, MDL No. 2804. This is the seventh consecutive year Ms. Hewitt has been honored in "Top Women Lawyers."
