Jones Day adds Aidan Lawes as of counsel to Financial Institutions Litigation & Regulation Practice in London

The global law firm Jones Day announces that Aidan Lawes is joining the Firm's London Office as of counsel in its Financial Institutions Litigation & Regulation Practice.

Mr. Lawes arrives at Jones Day from Mizuho Bank Ltd. In London where he was Head of Regulatory Change EMEA. In this role he advised buy-side and sell-side clients, including banks, mainstream asset managers, alternative fund managers, and sovereign wealth funds. He also has extensive experience providing transactional support to M&A, finance, and funds departments regarding regulatory due diligence, change of control analysis and applications, structuring assistance, and post-completion integration.

Mr. Lawes' experience at Mizuho Bank also included reviewing legislation, providing detailed technical and legal advice, and working extensively with IT and trading floor support teams to understand trade flows and booking models in order to develop IT specifications that meet regulatory requirements. He has served as chairman of the MIFID II working group of the Association of Foreign Banks.
