IBLJ names Jones Day among top 10 foreign firms advising on India-related matters for 10th consecutive year
India Business Law Journal (IBLJ) named Jones Day among the top 10 foreign firms advising on legal matters in India. This is the 10th consecutive year that IBLJ has included Jones Day in its top 10 ranking.
The editors noted that "the Firm maintains its position in the top tier after attracting a variety of mandates across practice areas." Highlighted work included a team led by Sushma Jobanputra and Ben Witherall advising OMERS, the pension plan for Ontario's municipal employees, on its US$266 million investment in Housing Development Finance Corporation, India's largest private sector lender, and a team led by Julien Reidy advising the Aurecon Group on the successful tender for the Metro Express light rail project in Mauritius.
A senior corporate counsel praised a team led by Sushma Jobanputra and Vinay Kurien as being "responsive, practical, commercial minded, very knowledgeable and fun to work with," while the general counsel of another client commented that the Firm’s lawyers are "very capable, regionally skilled, prompt and efficient."
