The Ninth Annual Chicago Forum on International Antitrust Issues is the only Midwest conference of its kind. With speakers from the U.S., EU, Brazil, Canada, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, China, and India, it is designed to examine the latest developments in antitrust law in the U.S. and around the globe providing practitioners and regulators with up-to-date and practical information. The forum will feature a Featured Keynote Address by Donald G. Kempf, Deputy Assistant Attorney General, Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice.

On June 14 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, Jones Day partners Pamela Taylor and Yizhe Zhang will speak at a panel discussion entitled "Merger Clearance: Getting Global Deals Approved." The panel will be moderated by Nicholas Koberstein, Division Counsel, Licensing & Acquisitions of Abbott Laboratories. Others on the panel include Barbara Rosenberg of Barbosa, Müssnich Aragão of Sao Paulo and Susan M. Hutton of Stikeman Elliott LLP.

On June 14 from 3:15 pm to 4:00 pm, partner Johannes Zöttl will participate in a panel discussion of "Trends in Global Cartel Enforcement." Other panelists include Eric van Ginderachter, Director, European Commission, DG Competition, Cartels Directorate; Lisa Phelan, Chief of the Washington Criminal I Section, Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice; and moderator Craig Y. Lee of Baker & McKenzie.

On June 14 from 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm, partner Paula Render will moderate a panel devoted to the topic of "Multi-jurisdictional Compliance with Antitrust and Competition Law." Panelists include Koren Wong-Ervin, Director of IP & Competition Policy of Qualcomm Incorporated, Theodore L. Banks of Scharf Banks Marmor LLC, and Amy B. Manning of McGuire Woods.

On June 15, the conference concludes with a panel discussion from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on "Multijurisdictional Deals: Lawyering Across Cultures," moderated by Pamela Taylor. Speakers include Yizhe Zhang; Barbara Rosenberg of Barbosa, Müssnich Aragão in Sao Paulo; Raymundo E. Enríquez of Baker McKenzie in Mexico; and Daniel P. O’Brien, Executive Vice President, Compass Lexecon.
