Jones Day adds Linh Lieu as of counsel to Global Disputes Practice in Hong Kong
Ms. Lieu advises on securities regulations, white collar investigations and defense, and complex commercial disputes. Acting as local or international counsel, she has worked extensively with board directors, committees, and senior management of major corporations and financial institutions on matters across Hong Kong, China, U.S., U.K., India, Korea, Japan, and Australia.
"Linh's arrival sends a clear message that Jones Day remains committed to providing our clients access to top legal talent capable of representing them in high-stakes matters and complicated cross-border cases anywhere in the world," said Gregory Shumaker, head of Jones Day's Global Disputes Practice. “Her experience in both commercial disputes and white collar matters is valuable, and makes her a great addition to what is already a very talented team.”
Ms. Lieu's experience also includes representation on matters relating to public misstatement, insider trading, market manipulation, bribery and corruption, fraud, internal controls, and accountability of responsible officers. Her recent client work includes advising major banks on internal investigations and securities regulatory investigations, advising a multinational corporation on post-deal disputes, counseling a Hong Kong-based securities clearing house in third party court proceedings concerning the market impact of injunctive orders on the settlement and clearing of a listed stock, and working with a major natural resources company in connection with its multi-jurisdictional debt restructuring.
Added Joelle Lau, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's Hong Kong Office, "Linh is a timely, strategic addition to our Hong Kong Office and the Greater China region as we continue to strengthen our presence in the region and add depth to our capabilities in the Global Disputes Practice.
