On Tuesday, August 29, Dallas Office partner Richard J. (Jay) Johnson will speak at a seminar devoted to "Anti-Counterfeiting and The Global Marketplace: How to Protect and Enforce IP While Expanding Trade."
The panel on which Jay will appear, entitled "Investigating IP Crimes," will be from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Additional panelists include Shane Walker (Special Agent, Homeland Security Investigations) and Raul H. Orona (Chief CBP Officer, U.S. Customs and Border Protection). The panel moderator is Michael Smith (Senior Enforcement Counsel, Office of Policy and International Affairs, USPTO).
The Honorable Pete Sessions (U.S. House of Representatives, 32nd Congressional District) will be the luncheon speaker and The Honorable Eddie Bernice Johnson (U.S. House of Representatives, 30th Congressional District) will make opening remarks.
Several other representatives of the U.S. government and businesses will speak, including Hope Shimabuku (Regional Director of Texas Regional United States Patent and Trademark Office); David Cho (Assistant Vice President Senior Legal Counsel - Trademarks & Copyrights, At&T Services, Inc.); and Mary Boney Denison (Commissioner for Trademarks, United States Patent and Trademark Office).
