Leighton Watson's practice is focused on internal investigations and complex commercial litigation. Leighton has experience in many aspects of litigation including, but not limited to, drafting motions and pleadings, developing facts, and document review.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2021, Leighton advocated for indigent individuals representing more than a dozen clients as a student public defender. In this role, Leighton drafted motions to dismiss, motions in limine, and successfully argued dispositive motions.
Leighton is dedicated to pro bono efforts that include expungements and prison legal assistance. As a leader in his community, Leighton currently serves on the Planning Commission for the city of Hazel Park, Michigan.
