For more than 20 years, José Antonio Vázquez Cobo has represented Fortune 500 and other prominent companies in high-stakes commercial disputes before judicial courts and arbitration tribunals in proceedings that often involve substantial international and multijurisdictional components. His practice encompasses a variety of litigation areas such as contractual disputes, extra-contractual liability, class actions, shareholders and managers conflicts, enforcement of guarantees, and insurance claims as well as banking, financial, insolvency, and real estate litigation.
José Antonio has successfully intervened in domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings and in judicial probate proceedings involving some of the most prominent families in Mexico. He has represented clients in a diverse range of industries, including medical, automotive, telecommunications, entertainment, hospitality, technology and media, energy, advertising, real estate, banking, and aviation, among others.

Represented a Brazilian bank as creditor within the bankruptcy proceedings of Desarrolladora Homex.
Represented a New York bank as creditor within the bankruptcy proceedings of Compañía Arrocera Covadonga and Agroindustrias Covadonga.
Represented a gaming, hospitality, and restaurant company as main creditor within the bankruptcy proceedings of Grupo ECE and its subsidiaries.
Represented one of the world's largest kitchenware manufacturers in a commercial litigation involving parallel commercial arbitration proceedings in order to enforce the purchase agreement of a Mexican joint venture. The decision set precedent and was recorded in the Mexican jurisprudence records.
Represented a U.S. citizen in a trial involving real estate, probate law, and trust agreement components, obtaining a favorable sentence that shaped two relevant judicial precedents recorded in the Mexican jurisprudence records.
Acted as defense counsel for an aircraft builder in a product liability trial resulting in the total dismissal of the claim.
Represented multiple heirs and executors in several judicial probate proceedings, having obtained, among others, a settlement for the client in excess of US$35 million.
Member of the team that obtained a multimillion judgment for environmental responsibility against one of the main chemicals manufacturers worldwide.
