Sherrone Torres advises public and private companies on the employee benefits and executive compensation elements of sophisticated corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, spin-offs, IPOs, bankruptcies, and leveraged buyouts. She has experience preparing employment, equity incentive, separation, and severance agreements. She also advises clients on discrete executive compensation matters in the transactional context, including potential sources of liability related to 409A (deferred compensation) and 280G (golden parachute payments) compliance.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Sherrone was an associate in the New York office of a prominent law firm that focuses on private equity transactions. Sherrone is actively involved in diversity and inclusion initiatives at Bowdoin College (her undergraduate institution) and works closely with the college to plan and organize alumni events that aim to promote these goals.
