In his 40-year career, Robert Thomson has gained extensive experience in large multijurisdictional disputes covering a wide variety of fields across a number of continents. He has handled numerous disputes in multiple forums and jurisdictions from a base in either London or Hong Kong. He has worked for clients in the fields of international trade, banking, commodities, and intellectual property; white collar crime; and construction and engineering. His court experience has included cases before courts in England, the U.S., Norway, the PRC, Korea, Sri Lanka, Singapore, the Philippines, and the Cayman Islands. Robert also has conducted arbitrations under the auspices of the LCIA, the ICC, HKIAC, and SIAC, amongst others.

Robert's recent matters include acting for a large private equity fund in a HKIAC arbitration and related court proceedings in the PRC arising from a failed investment in the PRC; acting for a Fortune 250 corporation in a HKIAC arbitration against their joint venture partner in the PRC; acting for a Philippines corporation in an SIAC arbitration arising from a contractual dispute over a land transaction in Manila; and undertaking an investigation into a potentially rogue Hong Kong-based employee on behalf of a Fortune 250 corporation.
