Chapin Scaggs joined our New Lawyers Group (NLG) in 2019. The NLG provides our newest lawyers with the opportunity to gain exposure to different practice areas and lawyering styles before making a commitment to a specific practice. Individuals in the NLG may focus on a particular area of practice, or compare practices, during their first year with Jones Day.
While in law school, Chapin served as a part-time research associate for Dean Chris Guthrie, where he examined the role of leadership in the legal field. Chapin also studied international law in Venice, Italy, which included courses in international arbitration, EU law, and transnational litigation. Prior to attending law school, Chapin worked in the health care sector as a clinical associate at a nonprofit gold-star hospital.
