Jennifer Sun has more than 12 years of experience in business litigation and currently defends clients against consumer lawsuits brought under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and companion state laws. Jennifer's practice includes representing Experian, one of the three national consumer credit reporting agencies, in dozens of lawsuits throughout the United States.
Jennifer has substantial experience in all stages of state and federal court litigation, including discovery, pretrial motions, settlement negotiations, trial, post-trial motions, and appeals. She has represented clients in complex litigation of claims ranging from unfair competition and trademark infringement to trade secret misappropriation and antitrust violations. She also has significant experience in creditors' rights and bankruptcy-related litigation.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Jennifer spent two years as a tax attorney in the Appeals Division of the California State Board of Equalization, where she advised the elected board members on the outcomes of taxpayer appeals pursuant to the Sales and Use Tax Law. She also taught appellate advocacy as an adjunct professor at the University of La Verne College of Law. Jennifer is conversant in Mandarin Chinese.
