Emily Rector focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation in both state and federal courts, including securities and derivative litigation and stockholder demands for books and records. Emily also represents one of the nation's major credit reporting agencies in cases brought under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). In addition, she has experience with significant government investigations and construction litigation.
Emily maintains an active pro bono practice, representing incarcerated individuals seeking judicial release through the Judicial Release Coalition, which provides access to justice to persons of color who are disproportionately incarcerated and often unable to afford counsel.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Emily served as a law clerk to Judge Mary Beck Briscoe of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and to Judge Joseph R. Goodwin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
