Carrie Perilla represents and advises employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, including employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, and wage and hour litigation. She also advises clients regarding compliance with employment laws and provides workplace training on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination. Carrie has experience with federal, state, and local labor and employment statutes, including Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), New York state and city human rights laws, and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Carrie counsels employers on how to respond to a changing legislative landscape and navigate a global workforce. She advises clients regarding employment-related diligence, including counseling on restrictive covenants in employment contracts, termination actions, employee handbooks, and leave policies.
Prior to law school, Carrie spent nearly a decade as an immigration advocate, first as an educator on the border in Texas and later as a nonprofit leader. Today, Carrie maintains an active pro bono practice by representing asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors.
