Laurin McDonald is an experienced state and local tax practitioner. Prior to joining Jones Day, Laurin worked closely with the chief judge of the Georgia Tax Tribunal as a staff attorney. At the Tribunal she focused on matters relating to sales and use tax, individual and corporate income tax, conservation easements, ad valorem tax, and unemployment insurance tax. Laurin also worked on issues regarding application of deductions and credits and routinely represented the Tribunal in speaking engagements related to case law and lawyer ethics and professionalism.
