Hugh Montgomery advises lenders, borrowers, and companies on restructuring and insolvency issues, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and commercial law.

Hugh has worked across a broad range of sectors, including financial services, banking, private equity, manufacturing, and energy and resources. His experience includes acting on lender- and borrower-side debt transactions, advising in connection with the administration of a listed corporation, and defending against multiple proceedings brought by corporate regulators and government.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Hugh was the tipstaff (judicial clerk) to Justice John Sackar of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and also worked as a paralegal in a boutique commercial law firm.
