Carlota Montes concentrates her practice in the areas of M&A, private equity, and venture financings.

Carlota represents technology companies in public and private M&A transactions in a wide range of industries, including semiconductor, software, information technologies, life sciences, and entertainment. Additionally, Carlota represents venture funds, strategic venture investors, and emerging growth technology companies in structuring and negotiating a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Carlota volunteered with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, The Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center, and the East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, where she worked primarily with immigrants from Latin America.
