Dr. Alex Li advises clients around the world on a wide range of matters that involve complex scientific and technical issues. His practice includes both emerging companies and multinational corporations in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, and software sectors.
Alex's experience includes patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis, software licensing, IP due diligence, IP agreements, cross-border IP transactions, and Hatch-Waxman litigations.
In assisting clients, Alex draws on his significant technical knowledge and research experience from his graduate studies in chemistry. He has authored a number of peer-reviewed scientific publications on subjects such as asymmetric catalysis, computational molecular modeling, and quantum dots. Prior to joining Jones Day as an associate, Alex worked as a scientific advisor and as a patent agent for three years in the Washington, D.C. area.
