Daniel Lopez's practice focuses on data protection, cybersecurity, risk management, and litigation. He counsels clients on data privacy compliance, outsourcing and technology transactions, data licensing arrangements, and other related matters. He also assists clients in conducting data breach investigations, including advising clients on notification and other legal obligations arising from a data breach.
Daniel advises clients on compliance with various U.S. consumer privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), and the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTCA). In addition, he represents clients against claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Daniel serves as the treasurer for the Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
