Masayuki Horiike has more than 10 years of experience advising multinational companies and investment funds in a range of transactions, including domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity investments, and joint ventures. He has significant experience representing international investment funds and companies on their investments, and associated financing, in a wide range of industries in Japan, including manufacturing, technology, renewable energy, and real estate.
Masayuki's experience also includes working in Jones Day's Silicon Valley Office where he advised American and European clients on U.S. M&A transactions, including acquisitions of and investments in tech start-ups. Masayuki continues to utilize his U.S. experience in advising Japanese companies on outbound M&A and investments.
In addition, Masayuki advises clients on general corporate, employment, and international cartel investigations matters as well and has experience conducting cross-border internal investigations.
During a two-year secondment to the legal department of a major international medical device company, Masayuki provided advice on the establishment of business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce and on medical industry regulations related to laws pertaining to pharmaceutical and medical devices, medical practitioners, Fair Competition Code, and personal information protection.
